Black Mothers March is More Than Just a March... Its a Weekend

Join us May 9-12, 2025, in Washington, D.C., for the 4th annual Black Mothers March Weekend—a series of events that are curated to educate and connect people from across the nation fighting the Family Policing System.

This year, we will kick off the weekend with the opening of an art exhibition entitled: Black Love I Rooted in Resistance.  This art exhibition centers on the enduring love of parents and relatives whose children have been stolen by the Family Policing System. Through heartfelt Love Letters written directly to their children, parents use their voices to resist the separation imposed on their families. Each letter is a profound act of Resistance, refusing to accept the erasure of their bonds and expressing the deep, unyielding love they hold for their children. These letters, presented as art, invite viewers to witness the essence of Black Love while challenging the systems that threaten the existence of Black Love. If you would like to contribute a Love Letter to the exhibition, click the link below.

The weekend will also include a Teach-in, designed to provide those actively fighting against the Family Policing System with essential tools and resources for resistance and advocacy in their respective states. Led by a diverse group of movement leaders from across the country, these interactive sessions will offer practical strategies and real-world examples of successful organizing efforts.

We are partnering with Black Mamas Bailout for a lively community gathering on Saturday, May 11, 2025, building momentum for the main event: Marching on the White House on Sunday, May 12, 2025.
